You do know that Socrates was condemned for impiety, right? The idea of him as some kind of god-botherer seems novel... revolutionary... Overall, I disagree rather strongly with your argument, in which you seem to make the same error as Richard Dawkins (try watching him if you never have, I'd love to see your reaction) That is, you are in a life-or-death struggle against a concept of 'God' which you take entirely from the claims of major organised religions -- which (I would argue) exist to contain and denature the idea of God, just as communism exists to subvert and contain the brotherhood of man. Whether you win or lose that battle makes no difference at all to syncretists, anatheists, psychonauts or scientific converts such as myself.
